Chandler Wyatt Stalcup was born and raised in Crystal River, Florida with his parents Carla and Shane Stalcup and his sister Peyton Stalcup.
Chandler also has quite an extensive list of extended family (and friends who have become family) that always showed up for him and helped him grow into the amazing young man that he was.
Chandler graduated from Crystal River High School in 2023 with Cum Laude honors. In high school Chandler was a part of both the football and baseball programs on the varsity teams and Student Government.
Outside of school, Chandler enjoyed working out at Sporting Health Club or in the gym that he built in his garage, playing games on his Play Station, having fun at the dam, or just driving around town with friends.
Chandler had plans to attend Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana to pursue a degree in Sports Management while continuing to play football. Chandler eventually wanted to attend Law School to become a Sports Agent.
On October 28, 2023 Chandler was shot in a drive-by shooting while away at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana. Chandler was in his dorm playing video games with his friends when he received a call from a teammate who said that he needed Chandler to come pick him up because he had gotten into a fight.
Chandler was always there for his friends and this time was no different. Upon Chandler’s arrival to pick up his friend, chaos broke out and someone pulled out a gun and fired several shots into the air. Chandler returned to his vehicle and headed back to Rocky Mountain College. On his way back, he was followed and subsequently shot less than a mile away from Rocky Mountain College.
Chandler made the brave choice at 16 to become an organ donor. His paternal grandfather was the recipient of a new pair of lungs when Chandler was just 2 years old and he was always grateful for the extra years that he was able to have with his grandfather.
On November 2, 2023, Chandler’s family said goodbye to his Earthly body and Chandler gave the gift of life to seven people.
